New Ronstan 30mm High Load block

Ronstan manufactures a full range of class-licensed ILCA® hardware, including the impressive new lower vang unit ILCA-VNG and the RF34108HLK high load vang block. These two components combine to form one of the best ILCA® upgrades available: the lowest friction ILCA® vang on the market.

Pair it together with the Series 20 double lashing block as the floating middle block for a 15:1 purchase – the ultimate ILCA® vang system optimisation.

• Narrow sheave suits up to 6mm (1/4”) lines. 
• Cheeks: Grade 316 Stainless steel with a hard-wearing black coating. 
• Sheave and bearing race: Grade 2205 stainless steel, ball bearings: Grade 304 stainless steel.
• Becket with removable clevis pin allows sailors to drop in a pre-spliced line. 
• MWL of 400kg (880lb) and a BL of 800kg (1760lb).
• Strong yet light weight at 59g (2.1oz) including RF1062 vang key.

Ronstan’s ILCA® mainsheet blocks provide the perfect balance of strength, performance, and reliability Ronstan is known for. They feature a 2-stage bearing system which minimises friction and gives sailors ultimate control while trimming. The cheeks and housings are lightweight yet strong and made from toughened glass fibre reinforced nylon. All stainless steel fixings and rivets are grade 316 stainless steel.

The linked traveller block uses the same 2-stage bearing for the mainsheet sheave while the smaller traveller sheave has a simple AP bearing to maintain enough friction to help keep the block close in the leeward corner when sailing upwind under load. Several concepts of the articulation point of the linked traveller block were tried and tested by ILCA® sailors to ensure the best design was achieved for optimum articulation.
