JBL launch new Distribution Amplifiers
distribution amplifiers
Engineered to work with any JBL architectural loudspeaker to deliver a fantastic high-resolution audio experience throughout the home, JBL launch two new distribution amplifiers, which provide maximum performance while taking up minimal rack space. Further configurability is supported with bridging of its Class D stereo channels into even more powerful mono outputs when needed. Each zone can have an independent source or share an audio source across all zones using the global audio input. Expand zones sharing an audio source across multiple amplifiers using the global audio output.
Both amplifiers provide 50W for each of their Class D channels when connected to 8ohm loads, and their output increases to 110W when connected to 4ohm loads. For those looking to meet high-power requirements, the amplifiers offer bridgeable outputs, allowing for a substantial increase in rated power, up to 1185W for 8ohm loads.
Another feature is the flexibility in source distribution. Each audio zone can have an independent source, allowing for customizable audio experiences in different areas. Alternatively, users can choose to have a single source shared across all zones through the global audio input. This flexibility extends to systems with multiple amplifiers, as zones sharing an audio source can be expanded using the global audio output.
To ensure performance and longevity, the DA Series comes with three power mode control options: 12V trigger, audio-sensing inputs, and an ‘always-on’ setting. These options offer users more control over how and when the amplifiers are activated. Further safeguarding the system, the DA850 and DA1650 also feature overcurrent and thermal protection mechanisms. These safety measures are implemented to prevent potential damage to the speakers, maintaining both performance and reliability.
Both amplifiers are equipped with local and bus inputs, along with channel output level controls. This allows for an even greater level of customization and control over the audio output, making them a fitting choice for both residential and commercial audio installations.
